Babies and children don’t weigh much, so 10cm of latex is luxury thickness.*
- Safe medium-firm density
- 100% natural and healthy
- Durable, and withstands being bounced on well
Latex provides flat, consistent surface support. This matches the New Zealand Ministry of Health mattress guidelines of ‘firm and flat’ as best for babies. The surface of the mattress is highly breathable, made from cotton and bamboo knitted fabric over a thick layer of organic NZ wool.
Handmade When you Order
Infant mattresses should fit snugly into the frame, without leaving any gaps at the sides. We hand make every order, so please do let us know the inner dimensions of your child’s bed frame and we’ll make the perfect fit (so there’s no roll-off).
Latex smoothly contours while cradling and gently distributing baby’s weight. Perfectly consistent support feels the same for baby anywhere on the mattress, right up to the sides.
Our latex is made the organic way. Pure latex tree sap is aerated into frothy bubbles then permanently heat cured into a durable foam. This foam has no toxic emissions and maintains natural elasticity for decades. Additionally, it is naturally dust-mite resistant and resistant to mould.
The latex in this mattress is 100% organic and has been certified by GOLS International Testing Organisation to be ethically and sustainably grown in EcoLatex’s Sri-Lankan plantations. The wool is certified GOTS organic, sourced from Southdown sheep raised on New Zealand free range farms. The knitted cover fabric option is a blend of organic cotton and bamboo that combines flexibility, breathability and strength. There is also an organic woven cotton canvas option.
