Pine with Natural Finish, Pine with Rimu Colour Finish, Pine with Java Colour Finish, Macrocarpa with Natural Finish
Frame Timber

Macrocarpa timber has a finer grain than pine. Each beam is unique, often showing swirls and compression ripples. The fine grade timber we order is always free from knot voids, but occasionally we see concentric grain. Let us know if you have a grain preference.

Pine has a broad grain with natural contrast across the yearly growth rings. We offer a natural finish, or a coloured stain finish in java (a semi-transparent black) or rimu (a transparent warm brown).

All timbers are completed with a beeswax based polish to leave a durable 'satin' surface that resists moisture, can be cleaned with a damp cloth, and is easily restored with a beeswax based polish.
Assembly

All the frame joins are tool-less. The corners have solid steel slots that securely latch together. The headboard has two bolts that can be positioned low, middle or high to adjust height. Four screws hold the slat belt tight from head to foot.

Estimated Delivery Time

All of our latex mattress, futons and bed bases are made to order from our workshop in West Auckland. The usual order completion time is two weeks plus delivery.

Auckland Delivery Cost

We deliver bed frames and mattresses in Auckland metropolitan for a $60 flat rate, and we are happy to setup. We also deliver to the greater Auckland area for $80. Alternatively, you are welcome to pickup your order when it is ready from our showroom and workshop in Oratia, West Auckland. Smaller items like pillows and cot mattresses can be couriered to your door.

Nationwide Delivery Cost

Depends on the products and your address. We use couriers for smaller products, and Mainfreight for mattresses and frames delivered to your address. To get a freight quote, you can add the relevant products to cart, then enter your street address in 'Checkout', which asks Mainfreight for their charge. For smaller items like pillows, or if freight seems to expensive, you can add products to cart with your address, note any questions you have here too, then checkout as a 'Quote', and we will get back to you with delivery options and answers to your questions.
We make our frames to order, and can accommodate custom tweaks and preferences, but we cannot offer the 7 day trial on custom orders.

Slats

Straight slats suit most people and can be used with all of our mattresses (except the Traditional futon). Flexi-slats can be used with all of our Latex mattresses and Dorsal mattresses (not futon mattresses), and are useful for people who want more contouring at their shoulder and hip regions.  Single bed flex-slats go from side-to-side. Larger beds have a beam supporting the mattress from head to foot, with flexi-slats on each side, which means the centre of the bed has a firmer region. Please ask for a quote, as cost depends on the frame size and type of flexi-slats.

Headboard

The Riva comes with a broad headboard with distinctive grooves running laterally across. We often make this headboard without these grooves, which makes the join between the headboard planks visible, but shows off the wood grain, popular for Macrocarpa options.
