This simple bed base is one of our most popular bed frames.  The Gypsy has a strong, stable design, and a range of height options that make it one of our most versatile bed frames. Made of sustainably sourced and durable New Zealand pine that gives the bed a natural, beautiful finish.

Leg Height Options

The Gypsy comes in a choice of 3 leg height options – low (27cm), medium (32cm) or high (37cm). Choose the highest leg option if you need under bed storage. The low leg option is great if you prefer a more minimalist look.

Easy to Setup

Setup is simple and only takes a few minutes. The base is made with solid pine slats that roll out and attach to the support beams, while the legs and headboard are securely bolted to the beams. The only tool needed is a simple Allen key that we include. All of our king and super king size beds have an additional pine centre rail for optimum strength.

Mattress Compatibility

The Gypsy Bed Frame is compatible with all of our mattresses and futons of a corresponding size.

Sustainably Sourced New Zealand Timber

At Futonz we only use sustainably grown New Zealand timber from renewable plantations. Our pine bed bases are made from Pinus Radiata, a strong and flexible wood with a broad clear grain.

Futonz’ 7 Day Bed Trial

Our 7-day trial means you can try your bed for a whole week to make sure it is the right choice for you.  You can get a refund or exchange the product if you are not completely satisfied. This trial promise includes sharing the freight costs: if you have paid for delivery, we will pay for return freight to our workshop. This 7-day trial is extended to full price standard bed bases only. We cannot offer trials on non-standard or customised beds.

Estimated Delivery Time

All of our latex mattress, futons and bed bases are made to order from our workshop in West Auckland. The usual order completion time is two weeks plus delivery.

Auckland Delivery Cost

We deliver bed frames and mattresses in Auckland metropolitan for a $60 flat rate, and we are happy to setup. We also deliver to the greater Auckland area for $80. Alternatively, you are welcome to pickup your order when it is ready from our showroom and workshop in Oratia, West Auckland. Smaller items like pillows and cot mattresses can be couriered to your door.

Nationwide Delivery Cost

Depends on the products and your address. We use couriers for smaller products, and Mainfreight for mattresses and frames delivered to your address. To get a freight quote, you can add the relevant products to cart, then enter your street address in 'Checkout', which asks Mainfreight for their charge. For smaller items like pillows, or if freight seems to expensive, you can add products to cart with your address, note any questions you have here too, then checkout as a 'Quote', and we will get back to you with delivery options and answers to your questions.
